SCHOLARSHIP and TUITION ASSISTANCE
79th Season: 2026-2027
CKYO is committed to the equitable access to high-quality music education and seeks to make our programs accessible to all students who successfully audition into an orchestra, regardless of their financial background. Need-based tuition assistance is available for all CKYO orchestras and we encourage families to apply, whether you are requesting full tuition assistance for the season or a $50 per semester assistance, all requests for tuition assistance should be applied for via the CKYO Tuition Assistance Application. All families with tuition payment concerns are encouraged to apply.
The applications are confidential and only reviewed by the Finance Committee of the CKYO Board of Directors and communication is done through the Executive Director. No other staff member or Board Member handles tuition assistance. Please DO NOT pay tuition until you have heard from the office regarding your Scholarship Application. CKYO is unable to provide refunds.
APPLICATIONS for the Full Season or Fall Semester only are DUE August 7, 2026. Applicants will be notified via email about the status of their application by August 17, 2026.
Scholarship Family Commitment
Families receiving tuition assistance are expected to support CKYO through volunteer service and/or participation in designated fundraising activities during the season. For the 2026–2027 season, this expectation will be fulfilled through participation in CKYO's HundredX survey campaign (anticipated February 2027). At least one adult (18+) in the household is expected to complete 50 free surveys on their phone or computer during the campaign period. No purchase is required, surveys can be completed at any time during the campaign (runs for 20-30 days), and personal information is not sold. Participation helps generate funding to support scholarships for current and future CKYO students.
In addition, scholarship recipients (students) will be asked to submit a brief personal statement about what participating in CKYO means to them and how tuition assistance has made a difference for their family. These statements may be shared with donors and supporters in thank-you letters, impact reports, or other stewardship materials. Names and identifying information will only be used with your permissi
