
MARY ELIZABETH HENTON
Assistant Conductor, Bravo String Orchestra
Mary Elizabeth Henton is the orchestra director at Model Laboratory Schools at Eastern Kentucky University. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Education, and her Rank 1 in Curriculum and Instruction with and endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education.
Mrs. Henton is currently an active member of the KY Chapter of American String Teachers Association and is Past Orchestra Chair for the Kentucky Music Educators Association. She has also served as the District 7 orchestra chair for KMEA, and co-chair as Fayette County Middle Honors Orchestra. She has given clinics at the Kentucky Music Educators Association Conference, and the National and International Gifted Educators Conference. Mrs. Henton is a violinist in the Kentucky Bach Choir and the Lexington Chamber Orchestra.
Mrs. Henton won the 2013 ASTA Studio Teacher of the Year award, and currently has a private violin/viola studio. She lives in Woodford County on the family farm with her husband, Nathanial and two daughters, Harper and Greta.
