MusicWorks is thrilled to welcome our friends and neighbors from MYCincinnati! Students from both programs will join together for a day of music-making led by our wonderful teaching artists and guest conductors. The two El Sistema-inspired programs will combine on the stage of the Lyric Theatre at 5:30 for a short, dynamic performance.

PARTNERS FOR YOUTH SPOTLIGHT ON YOUTH, APRIL 20, 2017:
MusicWorks is honored to be chosen to participate in the Spotlight on Youth event again this year at the Lyric Theatre at 7:00! We will kick off the whole program with a few tunes, then we will be joined by Bluegrass Youth Ballet’s dancers for a collaborative portion where the kids will play music while the dancers perform choreographed pieces.
LEXARTS ARTS SHOWCASE WEEKEND, MARCH 18, 2017:
We are collaborating with Bluegrass Youth Ballet’s Valley Park program for the Arts Showcase Weekend. Bring the whole family to this free event at 5:00 and listen to MusicWorks perform live music while ballet dancers dance. Reception to follow!

Bring the whole family out on Friday afternoon to enjoy the October installment of the new, family-friendly series at Al’s Bar! MusicWorks will perform at 5:30, then members of the orchestra will stick around to show their instruments to kids in the audience.

It’s our first week back at MusicWorks and we are delighted to welcome musical group WindSync for a workshop and concert again this year! Thank you to the Chamber Music Festival of Lexington! Come out to the courtyard of the Loudoun House at noon to hear our collaboration and our first concert of the year.

MusicWorks is thrilled to host a summer program as part of the Lyric Theatre’s summer youth programming! We will meet every Saturday in June from 10-11:30. A free lunch is included for participants!
MAY 15, 2016:
Join CKYO for our season finale concert on Sunday, May 15th beginning at 7:00! MusicWorks will perform an abridged version of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.
MAY 3, 2016:
We always love joining forces with Arlington’s music programs, and we will do it again on this night featuring the band, orchestras, music classes and MusicWorks orchestra! 6:00 at Arlington Elementary, free and open to the public.
APRIL 28, 2016:
Partners for Youth is hosting their annual Showcase on Youth event at the Lyric Theatre from 7-8:30. Come out and show your support for all the talented youngsters in Lexington! MusicWorks will perform first at 7:00.
APRIL 25, 2016:
MusicWorks is honored to be the beneficiary of the Music for Mission program on Monday, April 25th at 7:30. This popular concert series is free and open to the public, and contributions will support CKYO MusicWorks’ programming.
APRIL 21, 2016:
For the month of April, MusicWorks is the Wooden Nickel recipient of the month at West Sixth Brewery! Learn more on our facebook page, and join us this Thursday, April 21st when we host a happy hour event at West Sixth from 5-7pm.
APRIL 8, 2016:
It’s springtime again in the Bluegrass, and that means it’s time for baseball! Support CKYO at the first Friday home game of the season where CKYO will be featured as the community organization of the night. Purchase your tickets through CKYO to participate in this fundraiser to support our programming, and enjoy a performance by the MusicWorks orchestra before the game!

DECEMBER 10, 2015:
It’s our first side-by-side with Arlington’s school orchestra! MusicWorks and Arlington orchestras will play a joint concert on Thursday, December 10th at 6:00 at the school on North Limestone. Come support these great young musicians in their holiday concert – free and open to the public.
NOVEMBER 17, 2015:
We will perform at the Carnegie Center’s Family Fun and Learning night for the third year in a row next Tuesday! This is always a festive night for the kids with face painting, dancing, crafts and much more. Doors open at 5:30, performance at 6:30 followed by a free dinner at 7. Free and open to the public, just call the Carnegie Center to register and let them know how many are in your party: (859)254-4175. Come see the orange-shirted MusicWorks orchestras play arrangements of Mahler, Bach, the theme from E.T. and many more tunes!
SEPTEMBER 25, 2015:
YOU ARE INVITED to attend a mini-concert featuring the two MusicWorks orchestras this Friday, September 25th at 5:00 in the sanctuary of Embrace Church! Our founding orchestra will perform 3 songs and the beginners will demonstrate what they have learned in the first month of MusicWorks. Stay tuned for news of our official fall concert later in the semester, but stop by this Friday to meet the students and teachers, see what we have been up to, and cheer on the kids after their first month of hard work! This concert is free and open to the public, so bring friends and family!
WINDSYNC WORKSHOP: SATURDAY, AUGUST 22, 2015:
Musical group extraordinaire and resident Chamber Music Festival artists, WindSync, will join MusicWorks for the second year in a row for a workshop, concert and pizza party! What a great way for us to start our third season!

MusicWorks is looking forward to participating in the fourth annual Midwest Seminario! The event will be held at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music with El Sistema-inspired programs gathering for a full day of rehearsals and music making! Join us for our first concert of the new year with the full orchestra! MusicWorks will perform in the chapel of Embrace Church at 5:00 on Friday, January 30th.
JANUARY 4, 2015:
We are thrilled by the invitation to perform at Mayor Jim Gray’s inauguration! Four of our students will perform “America the Beautiful” at the event to be held at the Lexington Convention Center at 2:30.
NOVEMBER 18, 2014:
The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning is holding its annual Family Fun Night in November and MusicWorks will perform on the program! 7:00 pm.
OCTOBER 20, 2014:
MusicWorks will have a fall concert at the Lexington Art League Loudoun House at 5:00 pm on Monday!
SEPTEMBER 11, 2014:
MusicWorks will perform at the Lexington Rescue Mission fundraiser at the Hilton Hotel. 7:00 pm.
