SAMANTHA VIVIAN
Percussion Instructor
Samantha Vivian is currently a musicology and ethnomusicology graduate student at the University of Kentucky, where she also acts as teaching assistant for the department.
Previously, Samantha obtained degrees in both music education with an instrumental emphasis and percussion performance from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. She has played as principal percussionist of Wind Ensemble,
timpanist of Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in ensembles such as Percussion
Ensemble, Steel Band, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Band and has additionally performed with the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra.
Samantha has taught music courses from ages Kindergarten through high school and beyond, directing percussion ensembles, teaching classroom music, and providing a variety of private lessons.
