Chase Miller

Chase Miller is an active performer and teacher. He was appointed Program Director of Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra’s El Sistema program, MusicWorks, in 2019. Prior, he held the position of Education Coordinator with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.
Opportunities as a performing artist have taken him throughout the United States, Italy, and Ireland. As a soloist, Chase was selected winner of The University of Kentucky Concerto Competition in 2014. Also in 2014, he was a finalist in the National Society of Arts and Letters Woodwind Competition. Chase was the winner of the concerto competition at the BayView Music Festival in 2016. In 2017, He was selected finalist in the concerto competition at The University of Arizona and third prize winner in The North International Music Competition.
Chase’s summers have been spent traveling to attend musical festivals and education clinics both in the United States and abroad. He has participated in various chamber music festivals such as Fresh, Inc. in Wisconsin and BayView Music Festival in Petoskey,
Michigan. Internationally he attended was Opera and Chamber music festival, Music Academy International which is located in Mezzano, Italy. Followed by a week-long concert tour in Ireland with the Esker Festival Orchestra. Recently, he had the opportunity to attend Carnegie Hall’s Link Up Conference.
An active educator and teaching artist, Chase has a private clarinet studio in Lexington, Kenucky and presents guest sectional work at schools in the central Kentucky area. He has earned degrees from the University of Kentucky and University of Arizona. His teachers include Scott Wright, Jerry Kirkbride, and Jacke Glazier. Chase was received the University of Kentucky School of Music’s McCracken Award for exceptional achievement in music performance in 2013. Was offered the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music Woodwind Quintet fellowship in 2015.
