The Central Kentucky Youth Percussion Ensemble (CKYPE) seeks to engage middle and high school students from across Central Kentucky in meaningful, creative, and inspiring performance opportunities specifically for percussionists. 

CKYPE offers percussion students advanced training and performance opportunities within a variety of ensemble configurations (e.g. trios, quartets, etc.). CKYPE rehearses one night a week and is comprised of concert percussion instruments, drumset, and electronics. Improvisation is a major component with the ensemble, though no improvisation experience is necessary to join!  Performances take place at the Singletary Center for the Arts.  The Central Kentucky Youth Percussion Ensemble offers beginning to advanced opportunities for middle & high school students who are looking for an intensive, collaborative, and educational percussion experience.
