Each year CKYO sponsors a competition for member musicians. The competition is open to all CKYO students who were members of a CKYO orchestra during the 2022-2023 CKYO season and who have not previously won the Borchardt Concerto Competition, though mostly Symphony Orchestra members participate. Students will receive comments from a panel of judges, and up to three winners will have the opportunity to perform solo with our Symphony Orchestra during a 2023-2024 concert, though typically performances happen at the Teen Arts Concert on February 18, 2024.
